Saskatchewan Paint Horse Club
May 2008 Newsletter

Hello hello! I am excited to be writing the newsletters for the club this year!

I do want to note that any news, or show results, or anything anyone would like to share with the club feel free to e-mail the information to me, and I will add it! Member participation is number one, and without you we wouldn’t have a newsletter!

By the time this gets out, it will be May and our first show will be about ready to start! I hope everyone plans to attend the Lloydminster show on May 17 and 18. Lets make it another great show! Also, don’t forget the yearling jackpot entries were to be in by May 10, hope to see a few entries in that!

First off, make sure you apply for your membership as a new rule has been passed and members must have their memberships on them at the show in order to qualify for year end awards. So, get those memberships!

There is going to be an Open All Breed Reining Futurity held at the Harvest of Colours, September 26-28 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Parkland Manufacturing, Esterhazy, SK, has donated a beautiful saddle to be awarded to the first place exhibitor and X-Treme Mining and Demolition has donated a set of chaps to be awarded to second place.

Attention 13 & Under Youth - don't forget to get your SPHC membership to make sure you are accumulating points at the Lloydminster and Moose Jaw shows towards year end awards. DSI Mining, Saskatoon, SK, has sponsored a saddle to be awarded to the year end hi point 13 & under youth at the annual awards banquet. Don't miss this chance.
SPHC wishes to thank Wayne Leposa for all of his hard work in obtaining sponsorship for all these awards. If anyone else is willing to work towards gaining sponsorship, or if your company is willing to sponsor an award, added money in a futurity, or a donation toward the show costs, please contact any SPHC director.

I also wanted to remind everyone that any youth 13 and under must wear helmets in their classes due to the fact that the Saskatchewan Horse Federation provides our insurance and has passed a new rule that any youth 12 and under are to wear helmets. If you are 13 and showing in an open class you are excused from the rule, it’s only for the 13 and under classes you need to wear it for.

Make sure you check the website for the latest news and information! I try and update it as frequently as I receive the information!
